Renewable Growth Strategy

We helped a renewable energy company expand into new markets and double installed capacity.

The Challenge

The client was a renewable developer with a strong home market that was running out of room to grow. Its core geography was crowded with bidders, power-purchase prices were being competed away, and its best new projects were stuck: grid interconnection queues had swollen past two terawatts nationally, and the wait from application to switch-on had roughly doubled to around four to five years. Most projects that entered those queues never got built. Leadership had ambition and capital, but no clear view of which markets, technologies, and project stages would actually turn that ambition into connected megawatts.

What was going wrong

  • Interconnection waits had stretched to roughly four to five years, tying up capital long before a project earned a cent.
  • Historically only about one in eight queued projects ever reaches operation—the rest are withdrawn.
  • A saturated home market where competitive bidding was steadily eroding power-purchase prices.
  • No consistent way to compare markets and technologies, so capital chased whatever deal came next.

Our Approach

  • Market and grid-access assessment
  • Portfolio optimization and prioritization
  • Go-to-market strategy and partnerships
  • Business case development and execution plan

How We Did It

From diagnosis to scale.

A structured path that turns analysis into measurable, lasting change.

  1. 01

    Assess

Sized demand, competition, and grid-access reality across candidate markets.

  2. 02

    Prioritize

Ranked markets, technologies, and project stages by risk-adjusted return.

  3. 03

    Plan

Built entry models, partnerships, and a capital-allocation roadmap.

  4. 04

    Mobilize

Stood up the team and governance to execute expansion.

DENDRA challenged our thinking and helped us build a strategy that is both bold and executable.Chief Executive Officer
